HFT HydroVane 30

The HFT HydroVane 30 is a series of deflectors designed for surface towing.

The units are built to order, and may vary in size and lift according to specific requirements.

We have built units upon order for lift as low as 0,8 ton based upon specific tasks.
They are all manufactured using FRP - in high tension areas – GRP and syntactic foam

The first of these units were built for a joint development project undertaken by Southampton Oceanography Centre, FUGRO Survey Oslo, VBPR and the University of Tromsoe in Norway for a new concept for acquisition of high-resolution 3D seismic data using a series of single-channel streamers.

The HydroVane is fixed to a wave piercing buoyancy module distanced above the poil arrays to a suitable distance fitting the required tow-depth of the perpendicular cable towing mini streamers. It may also be rigged for more traditional seismic towing.

HFT HydroVane 30

A purpose built deflector for surface tow.
First prototype units delivered to VBPR (Volcanic Basin Petroleum Research).

Unit used during development of new 3D seismic by Southampton Oceanographic Centre.

Successful separtation of 24 single channel streamers.
- achieved summer 2007
