The HFT CatFish 100 has been designed for the purpose of achieving a high lift and excellent stability
for a towed instrument platform to be used in deep water towing.
The specific design criteria for the has been to combine the excellent lift/drag ratio of a patented depressor,
with a hydrodynamically shaped stable platform.
It is designed to have a slight positive buoyancy during operations,
and fitted with a "weak link" near the tow-point. There should be an excellent chance to recover
expensive equipment installed on the fish in the event of a collision or other any other incident with the unit.
The HFT CatFish100 may be purpose designed to carry specific equipment. It will also be possible
to fit a "skid" underneath to carry equipment not suitable to fit onto the platform itself.
It may also be designed as a remotely controlled unit, with the possibility of remote
or auto-control, and still achieve the superior depth capabilities and stability the design allows for.
The HFT CatFish100 is built primarily by using Aluminium, using syntactic foam buoyancy material.
